What's Happening At…
Metro Wesleyan Church, Halifax, Nova Scotia
"Things are changing at Metro Wesleyan! Our thinking is changing. We must think
like an established church and not make excuses for poor performance. Our giving
is changing. Outside support has been significantly reduced while our fiscal
needs continually grow. Our leading is also changing. Our new LBA now wrestles
with the issues the DS and DBA wrestled with only a few days ago. While church
planting was great, becoming is even better!"
Senior Pastor: Dean Brown
Note From the Editors: Thanks Dean for
sharing some of the challenges of becoming an established church. It sounds like
your depending on the Lord more and more.
Doaktown and Blissfield Wesleyan Churches,
New Brunswick
"When I came to pastor Doaktown Wesleyan Church
two years ago, my prayer was, 'Lord, if there would be only one church in town
that shows grace, may we be it.' God was faithful to that prayer. Because of our
desire to be grace-filled, He has blessed the church with children. We now have
about 19 in Sunday morning ministries, sometimes kids even outnumbering the
adults in Sunday school! Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me.' We
say, 'Yes, Lord, let them come!'"
Senior Pastor: Pat Cook
Note From the Editors: Thanks
for the good word, Pat. It seems that the Lord is blessing your endeavours!
Jonesport Wesleyan Church,
New Brunswick
"This church first open its door on June 6,
1912. Some 91 yrs later God is still at work. People are getting involved in
ministry as never before. The recent Self-Denial offering saw people give over
$800. The Clubhouse Ministry saw 32 shoe boxes brought in for Operation
Christmas Child. During Booster Weekend, 4 of our youth went to Bethany and have
returned knowing God has a purpose for their life. Yes, His purpose is alive and
well in Jonesport, Maine."
Senior Pastor: Glen McVicar
Note From the Editors: Thanks, Glen, for sharing what God is doing in Jonesport.
It's exciting to see God working in so many different areas!
Sunrise Wesleyan Church, Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island
“In October we celebrated our first birthday.
What a year! We' have seen people come to faith and been blessed with the
responsibility of discipling numerous new and young believers. We are currently
going through our first ALPHA Course, and people are energized about how they’re
growing. Plus, we are excited about several upcoming outreach events: a
community Carol-Sing, our Christmas Eve service, some servant-evangelism
projects, and the launch of a community ALPHA Course. Thanks for your prayers
and support.”
Senior Pastor: Greg Hanson
Note From the Editors: Greg, we rejoice with you and your church! Thank you for this encouraging word.
(Oh, and Happy Birthday!)
