Around Our World: Yarmouth by Jim Agrell |
|
God is blessing us here at Yarmouth Wesleyan and we are seeing his Spirit move in new and exciting ways! As the Easter season approached, we felt that it was time to go back to two services. Our team decided that we would take the plunge and the first week of March we brought back the two service format with a service at 9:30am and 11:00am. To ease back into the whole two service thing, we decided that both morning services would be the same. To our surprise, our church family accepted the challenge. It wasn't the easy thing or most desired, but everyone with a great attitude committed themselves to open more room on Sunday mornings by committing to the early service. Many of our regular attenders made the early service a priority and in the month of March we have averaged 626 in attendance. (lya 510) Praise the Lord!! Our Easter season brought a showing of the Passion of Christ, our annual Walk Through Jerusalem, Tri-church Good Friday service and a great Easter Sunday morning celebration! Our new record attendance was 740 for Easter Sunday morning and we were glad to be back in a two service format! Next week we begin an all-church experience called, "Come Thirsty" following the new book by Max Lucado by that name. Our congregation is excited to embark on this invitation to come to the well and drink deeply. We have new groups starting up for this experience and we are asking God to send us new families and individuals who are thirsty for the things of God. We believe He will! All in all, we are excited more than ever to be heralding such a life-giving message! God is good and we are having the time of our life down here in Yarmouth!
